Cacao – High in vitamin B’s and magnesium, both of which supports the nervous system. It also has phenylethylamine, which stirs up happy feelings, and releases stress. Cacao has an even higher amount of antioxidants than blueberries. The best is to eat cocoa content that is 70% or higher, or in the raw form, which is quite bitter. Adding milk to the cocoa counteracts the benefits, so milk chocolate would not be considered a superfood.

Honey – This elixir has antibacterial and antiseptic properties.  It has been found in ancient tombs in Egypt after thousands of year and is still unspoiled.  There are many medicinal uses for it such as soothing sore throats due to its inflammatory properties. As well as being used topically to seal and protect a wound, it is like a liquid band-aid.

Maca – This root from Peru has lots of nutrients, but its mainly known for increasing cognitive function, libido, energy levels. It is also known as an adaptogen which means it helps the bring the body into balance.  For instance, when the body in under stress, maca helps support the adrenal glands to deal with the stress.

Matcha – This is a powdered green tea from Japan, it is high in antioxidants that fight against UV radiation, cancer.  It also contains the calm inducing (without drowsiness) amino-acid L-Theanine.  This amino acid also helps promote mental clarity, improve concentration.  Another benefit of Matcha is that it increases metabolism.
